REAL-TIME PALLET VISIBILITY
IoT powers Pallet Visibility
Real-time visibility into every pallet – location, condition, and status, from dock to dock, trip after trip. PALs – Printed Active Labels – carry a printed battery and are applied directly onto the pallet wrap at origin. Read by in-cabin, in-trailer, or on-the-dock gateways they report location and temperature continuously, whether your pallet is loaded, in transit, or sitting at the dock.
The Connected Pallet Ecosystem
Shippers
Gain real‑time pallet‑level insight for operational efficiency, dock planning, and freight security. No more blind spots. No more guessing.
Customers
Finally know when their orders will arrive and in what condition. This builds trust and reduces service friction, strengthens intra-org relationships.
Fleets
The connective tissue that holds the ecosystem together. Better freight, fewer claims, stronger relationships, and a clear competitive edge.
Insurers
Get cleaner data, fewer claims, faster investigations, and more predictable risk. This smooths renewals and opens the door to optimized premiums.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Pallet Visibility for Private Fleets
With portable or easily installed inexpensive infrastructure and pool of reusable labels and tags, Private Fleet Operators connect with every pallet in transit and at the dock, in real time, at the granularity their operations requires. PALs applied to pallets transmit location and temperature continuously. Built for reliability in tough transport environments the setup empowers logistics teams.
- Know the exact location and condition of every pallet on the road
- Reduce time spent locating misplaced or delayed pallets
- Catch temperature excursions before spoilage happens
- Give dispatch and customers a single source of truth on pallet status
- Strengthen intra-org relationships while building trust and dependability

HOW IT WORKS
PALs Make Every Pallet Speak for Itself - with Digital Voice
Built for private fleets that control both ends of the trip
PALs or Tags are applied directly onto the pallet wrap at the point of origin. A quick QR or barcode scan links the label/tag to the pallet TMS/WMS identifier. The pallet gets its individual digital voice, transmitting from that point forward as a unit of freight.
A portable battery-powered gateway inside the truck cabin or an autonomous solar-charged gateway in the trailer reads PALs or Tags continuously capturing each pallet's location and condition throughout the trip.
Data streams to the cloud in real time, giving dispatch, warehouse, and delivery teams the exact same live view of every pallet. Location and status updated automatically. No phone calls, radio check-ins, or manual confirmation.
Historical trip data feeds into better planning and forecasting. Tags and labels are collected after delivery and put back into service on the next load, keeping cost per trip negligibly low as your fleet reuses the same hardware again and again.
SOLUTION USE CASE
A $340K biologic shipment protected in real time
Specialty pharmacy distributor was transporting a high-value biologic therapy requiring strict 2–8°C cold chain maintenance. Mid-route, a digiNsight alert flagged a temperature excursion in the refrigerated trailer before the shipment reached its destination. The logistics coordinator immediately contacted the carrier. The driver identified a malfunctioning cooling unit and transferred the shipment to a compliant vehicle within 23 minutes. The biologic arrived within specification. A GDP-compliant temperature report was automatically generated and emailed to the receiving hospital pharmacist upon delivery geofence trigger.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of Pallet Visibility for my organization?+
Pallet Visibility gives you real-time location and status for every pallet moving with your fleet. No more phone calls, emails to confirm where a load is or manual checks to catch a problem. Dispatch, warehouse, and delivery teams all see the same live data, so issues like temperature excursions or misrouted freight get caught before they become costly. The result: fewer delays, faster trailer turns, stronger internal coordination, and a lower cost per trip.
Why do organizations with private fleets benefit the most from Pallet Visibility?+
Private fleets control both the outbound and inbound legs of every trip, which means PALs and Tags actually come back. That closed loop is what makes label reuse economically viable: the same hardware tracks load after load instead of being discarded after a single trip. For-hire carriers don't have this control, so reuse and the cost efficiency it enables isn't possible in the same way. If you run your own trucks Pallet Visibility is built specifically for your model.
What are the main components of Pallet Visibility?+
Pallet Visibility runs on three core pieces working together: PALs and Tags applied to the pallet wrap at origin, giving each pallet a unique digital identity linked to your TMS/WMS through a quick QR or barcode scan. In-cabin or in-trailer gateways read PALs and Tags continuously capturing location and condition data during transit. The cloud platform (digiNsight) streams that data in real time to dispatch, warehouse, and delivery teams, and stores it for reporting, planning, and forecasting.
How much does Pallet Visibility cost?+
Cost depends on your fleet size, trip volume, and how many pallets you want to track, so pricing is tailored rather than one-size-fits-all. The biggest cost driver is usually hardware replacement, and because PALs and Tags are recovered and reused trip after trip on a private fleet, you're not paying for a new sensor every time a pallet moves. Book a call and we'll walk through pricing based on your specific operation.
